Exchange Autodiscover
Outlook and Exchange Autodiscover Checker
Autodiscover is how Outlook finds a mailbox's server settings. This tool queries the standard autodiscover endpoint for a domain and reports the HTTP status, whether the certificate is valid, any redirects, and the protocols returned. It helps diagnose the classic problems: the Outlook profile that will not configure, the certificate warning at startup, and the missing DNS record.

How to use it
- Enter your domain, for example contoso.com.
- Optionally enter a mailbox address and password for a full authenticated test. Credentials are sent over HTTPS by POST, used for this one request and never stored.
- Press Check and read the result. A 401 response with a valid certificate usually means the endpoint exists and is asking for credentials.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I get an error connecting to the autodiscover host?
The autodiscover record may be missing, may point to a host without a valid certificate, or the mail server may block requests from unknown sources. Check the DNS record with the DNS Lookup tool.
Do I need to enter a password?
No. Without credentials you can still confirm the endpoint, certificate and redirects. Credentials are only needed to see the protocol settings returned for a mailbox.
Is the password kept?
No. It is sent by POST over HTTPS, used for the single request, and never logged or stored.
