Abdalla M. Elmorsi, Senior Systems Administrator based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with more than 10 years of experience in Microsoft enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, and security. This site is where I write up practical troubleshooting checklists, PowerShell scripts, and step-by-step guides, refreshed and rewritten as the technology changes, not left to go stale.

What I work with

My background spans the full Microsoft enterprise stack: Active Directory, Exchange Server (on-premises and hybrid), Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and the System Center suite (SCCM, SCOM, SCSM), alongside Azure architecture and administration, VMware and Hyper-V virtualization, and physical datacenter hardware (blade and rack-mount servers, HP and Cisco equipment). That includes Exchange migration planning, Active Directory upgrades and hardening, Microsoft Defender for Identity and Cloud App Security for continuous threat monitoring, and disaster recovery automation and readiness planning aligned to the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF).

Security and compliance are a core part of that skill set: implementing and auditing Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmark hardening baselines across hybrid environments, and applying digital forensics tooling (Autopsy, Wireshark, PsExec-based investigation workflows) as part of structured incident response methodology.

Why this site exists

The goal here is content that stays useful: migration guidance that reflects current supported paths, security checklists built around current threat patterns, and disaster recovery guidance that follows established frameworks rather than guesswork. Where a topic has moved on (a deprecated PowerShell module, an end-of-life product, a changed Microsoft Graph API), the content here gets rewritten to reflect that, rather than left as a historical snapshot.

Alongside the writing, I also build and maintain a free tools hub, self-contained browser-based calculators, converters, and generators that don’t require signing up or installing anything.

Outside of enterprise IT

I also have a long-standing hobbyist interest in electronics and robotics, microcontroller programming (Arduino, PIC), Raspberry Pi projects, and basic PLC ladder logic, which shows up in the site’s Robotics section. It’s a genuinely different world from enterprise directory services and mail systems, and I like keeping both going side by side.
