Frequently asked questions

What does TTL mean?

Time to live is how many seconds resolvers may cache the record. A low TTL means changes spread quickly, a high one reduces lookups.

Why do I see different results than my own resolver?

Resolvers cache records until the TTL expires, and some use geographic routing. This tool asks Cloudflare directly.

Which record proves domain ownership or email settings?

TXT records carry SPF, DKIM and DMARC settings and most ownership verification codes.
